Pharmacists generally have three main areas of expertise: 1) The first is dispensing of drugs. Pharmacists are responsible for making sure that the right drug is dispensed to the right patient at the right time. 2) The second will be counseling patients. Some patients will have questions regarding how their drugs will interact with other meds they are taking, or how to manage the side-effects they are experiencing. Pharmacists have a good grasp of the drugs they dispense and are in a position to answer many patients' questions. 3) The third area is education. Pharmacists have the responsibility of educating patients about their medications.
